End of Summer Blog
We want to start the blog by wishing our members are very successful Great North Run. It is such a special event, Huge well done on the training that has gone in. We really hope you enjoy the event.
Although we are hanging on to the thoughts of some heat and sunshine for the end of summer we have started planning for September and beyond. We have Posture Perfect coming on Thursday 7th September – this is a one-hour workshop for posture, mobility and back health. You can book through WIX and the workshop is open to non-members. Contact Jen to arrange payment. The course will take you through some deeper stretches that we don’t get the opportunity to do in classes and after a gym session. These can be replicated at home or potentially when taking a break from your desk. This is a great starting point if you are new to the gym and want some ideas on mobility or to create some body awareness (how your body feels) this can also help with balance and co-ordination.
Meno Cafe 30th September 4pm
We are holding our first Meno Cafe to start the conversation on all things peri menopause and menopause. This part of a woman’s life can be uneventful but for many it is a transitional period which can last for many years and an be emotionally and physically turbulent. Many women suffer, finding it difficult to lose weight when they previously did not or with symptoms that might put the most committed exerciser off coming to the gym or a class.
.
So with that in mind we are opening the discussion and we are excited to have a GP come to the Meno Cafe to talk through what is available on prescription for some symptoms. .Jen will go through some lifestyle and fitness changes that can support the mind, body and soul and explain what is happening with hormones. There will be healthy refreshments, no judgment and a safe
space to listen, talk and learn. Book via WIX and feel free to spread the word as we are opening this up to non-members.
National Fitness Day
This year, National Fitness Day is Wednesday 20th September during that week (18th to 25th September) you can bring a friend to gym class with you. We want to get as many people as possible moving during that week. Friends can book on to class via the WIX app.
Food and Healthy Lifestyle
Jen is running a 30 day Back to Basics Nutrition program from 23rd September until 23rd October. Perfect for anyone who struggles with accountability and motivation. You’ll learn how to build a healthy plate – workout your energy balance and how to create a deficit. There will be daily information including live videos and recipes. This course gets really good feedback. Maybe you have nailed your fitness regime but want to work on your diet.
Contact Jen to book this.

In late September Claire Charlton is on a 6 week placement and lunchtime Spin will be taken by her husband and PT Rob.
We are in the process of testing a number of new things to help you get the most from your membership so watch this space.
We want to thank you for all your support in the food bank collection for The Bay Foodbank. It was much appreciated and sadly really needed. We will be collecting again so just get in contact if you or your business would like to contribute.
